this mix is the first half of my set at back2earth for uwu's uwutopia night. if i'm being honest, i usually try to prepare a set that strictly, and often rigidly, aligns with the event's theme (or what i perceive of the theme, at least). my ego tries to reassure me: "maybe if you show you 'understood the assignment', some keeper of the portland rave gate will notice that, notice YOU, and you'll be welcomed into The Club that holds the key to future dj gigs, aka True Ultimate Happiness."

but this time, i decided that i was going to play what i want, Neo Rave Clout be damned. and the result was one of my favorite mixes yet. some clangin, some bangin -- ultimately with the understanding there are bigger fish to fry in the search for universal happiness and liberation for all <3
