Juan Wauters moved from Uruguay to New York as a teenager and turned to music to take control of the loneliness that came with his new surroundings. As the frontman of the garage outfit, The Beets, Juan became known throughout the city. He has now grown into poet of sorts and his sound has matured to outsider folk music, which he plays under his own name. On his new album, Who Me? Juan continues his approach to existential questioning through pop music.

"One of New York's most compelling singer/songwriters" -SPIN
"Sweet, unvarnished folk-rock... Simplicity here isn't a matter of technical limitation but of philosophical stance." -Pitchfork
"Wauters has pursued a more introspective, subdued sound, writing songs that explore who he is and how "he" came to be. The eccentric punk-turned-poet sings as though he's finally wriggled free of received wisdom." -NPR
