In the late 1980's, early 1990's, I worked at a small used record store in Monterey California. Although working there, it never felt small. I knew I was lucky to be working there, It seemed like the hub for the single thing that occupied my mind, music. It was from having a job at that record store that I also got a weekly show on the local public radio station. Every Saturday at midnight I would broadcast my show, hopped up on coffee with my crate of records. A crate that was always too full of records for my allotted time on the air. But, I need to be able to make choices and selections, so better too many records than not enough.

I have a lot great memories from that time, but the one that is the best of all is the day the woman who would become my wife came into the record store to sell some cassettes. For me, it was as described in books and movies, love at first sight. Soon after our first meeting, we had our first date, and then a life time together,

We both shared an passion and interest in music and today I thought it might be fun to play a few songs that we shared during the first year or so of our relationship.

Pere Ubu - Cry “Cloudland”

The Church - Grind “Gold Afternoon Fix”

R.E.M. - Belong “Out Of Time”

Throwing Muses - Say Goodbye “The Real Ramona”
