This time around, Austin takes a look at Send Help, a survival horror film that throws its characters into a stripped-down nightmare and lets the tension do the heavy lifting, and Iron Lung, the bold sci-fi horror adaptation directed by YouTuber Markiplier, which brings a cult indie concept to the big screen in a very committed way.

For the Spotlight Review, Austin goes back to 2011 for The Raid — a blistering action film that became a massive phenomenon in Indonesia while much of the U.S. barely seemed to notice it at first. Over time, though, its impact became impossible to ignore. Austin digs into what made it hit so hard, why it felt so different from so much mainstream action at the time, and what it was like finally experiencing it for himself.
