As we have evolved and changed, grown from family groups to tribes, to villages, to towns and to cities, our connection with music has changed with us. At one time, music was the center of most of our rituals & ceremonies. Something in which we participated. But as we gathered in ever larger groups, occupying great cities, music became a form of entertainment. We pay to see and hear other people sing and play music.
